Father - Daughter Dance

Our church has an annual father-daughter dance, and this year Brian got to take all 3 of his lovely daughters! :) Last year Ashley refused to go, so it was just Amanda! :) Amber was very excited from the start and Ashley wasn't sure. However, I sold Ashley on it when I said she could get a formal dress for the event! So, mid-January I took both of the older girls shopping for fancy dresses to wear (Amanda had gotten a nice dress @ Christmas).

Our first stop was Kohls and the dresses were just under $50 each. I had a 20% off coupon, plus some Kohls cash. The girls tried on a few, but options were limited because we don't allow strapless and we also have a rule about the length. Many dresses did not meet the modesty standards for our family. But, the girls did select appropriate dresses and wraps since the dance is in winter and the stresses were sleeveless.

Ashley needed appropriate shoes. Ross was in the same shopping center, so I said we should go there for shoes and to see if we could find better wraps (they weren't crazy about the ones we got at Kohls). Much to our surprise, there are quite a few more appropriate dresses at Ross, and on clearance for less than $20 each! They had a variety of fancy black wraps, which were more of the style they liked. So, we came out of Ross with 2 dresses, 3 wraps, and 1 pair of black pumps!

Day of the big event, Amber had already decided which dress & wrap she wanted, but Ashley was undecided. So, she tried on everything and did a fashion show for Dad to get his opinion. It was finally settled that she would wear the white dress and one of the black wraps (both from Ross).

Brian had bought all the girls matching corsages (wrist ones at my recommendation). Amber's was a perfect fit. Amanda's was WAY too big, so we were trying to figure out how to make it work when Ashley's band broke! Since we then had to tie it on, we switched them out to make the broken band fit Amanda - perfect!

The crazy girls were all ready to go, and now it was picture time! :) Everyone was down with that and after the nice formal pics were taken, they got to show their own little crazy style and everyone had fun!

Daddy took them to Magnolia's in Purcellville for dinner 

(we had been there in Dec for our anniversary).
